Wagatomo specialises in using an open grill fired by the prized binchotan charcoal and oakwood to grill its premium meats and seafood. Fish lovers will love the Spring menu in particular due to the number of fish based dishes. The mackerel was so sweet, every mouthful was a delight. The sole beef dish held its own and I loved the use of brown butter negi and hazelnuts. And when a dish comprising just tomatoes and no protein sees you polishing off the entire plate, its a testimony to the skills of chef-owner Tomoyuki Kiga and his culinary team. The soothing low light and soft background music makes this a lovely and relaxing place to dine, especially after a hard day's work.
