Fullerton Hotel Town Restaurant G’Day Sunday Brunch

The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore present a taste of Australia to mark the first anniversary of sister property The Fullerton Hotel Sydney. From 18 October to 30 November, guests can look forward to Aussie-themed, Singapore-inspired dining promotions that draw on the rich culinary cultures of both countries. Interestingly, the Fullerton Hotel Sydney also shares a similar history as a previous General Post Office.

Fullerton Hotel Town Restauarant Buffet (7)

I tried the G’Day Sunday Brunch at Fullerton Hotel’s Town Restaurant, which is only available on 18th and and 25th October. This is not the usual Sunday Brunch with a cursory nod to the Aussie-theme by featuring just a couple of Aussie-linked dishes. Many dishes feature ingredients brought in from Australia and there are also dishes that are quintessentially Australian. If you plough through all the Australian dishes, you would probably stagger out of the restaurant a very satisfied person.

Here’s a list of all the dishes that are Aussie-themed or feature ingredients from Australia:

  • Australian Brekkie
  • Australian Moreton Bay Bugs
  • Tasmania Mussels
  • Australian Peaches / Australian Beets
  • Australian King Fish Tiradito
  • Crackling Australian Pork Belly
  • Wok Fried Australian Yabbies
  • Australian Swimmer Crab
  • Slow-Roasted Australian Dorper Lamb Leg (My favourite!!)
  • Pan-flashed Stanbroke Australian Hanger Steak
  • Hickory-smoked BBQ Australian Pork Ribs
  • Cheeses such as King Island Dairy Ash Brie, Berry Creek Riverine Blue Chese
  • Anzac Biscuits, Pavlova, Lamingtons

and many more

Majestic Bay Seafood Restaurant – 1 for 1 dim sum at $38++ (Eat all you can!)

Majestic Bay Seafood Restaurant is having a super 1-for-1 dim sum all-you-can-eat deal where 2 diners can eat for the price of $38++. That’s $38++/2 per pax! The dishes in the menu include dim sum dishes, small plates, rice and noodle dishes as well as 1-time-order large platters. There are no further hidden charges unless you wish to order water ($3 per pot per table refillable) or tea ($3.50 per person refillable). I was a little apprehensive that they might ask us to pay for compulsory wet wipes or peanut/cold dish appetisers as Chinese restaurants often do, but they didn’t. Yay!

Majestic Bay Seafood Restaurant Dimsum (17)

It was too good a deal to miss out so I made a booking immediately when I saw the ad. I’ve been to Majestic Bay Seafood Restaurant several times over the years and enjoyed the food there. So I knew that this dim sum had to have a minimum standard. Went there today and it was the 1st time since the start of the circuit breaker that I have dined together with my parents!

PARKROYAL on Kitchener–Oh Crab! It’s back! Seafood Buffet

This is one seafood buffet that seafood lovers, crab lovers in particular, would rejoice its return. Check out PARKROYAL on Kitchener Spice Brasserie’s seafood buffet which is available on Fridays – Sundays (excl Friday lunch), from now until 16 August 2019. You can stuff yourself silly on dishes such as Stir Fried Slipper Lobster, Oatmeal Prawns with Curry Leaves and Steamed Whole Seabass Hong Kong Style. Or seafood on ice items such as Black Mussel, Marinated Stone Crab Claw, Baby Lobsters and Scallops on Shell.

Or if you are a true blue crab lover, you will be making multiple trips to the crab station for Chilli Crab with Mantou, Black Pepper Crab and Salted Egg Yolk Crab. When I was there, I witnessed this table of dinners tucking into crab after crab, you won’t believe how high the discarded shells were piled, any higher and the shells might have toppled to the floor!

There’s also a DIY mocktail bar, a first for Spice Brasserie. Concoct your own mocktail from a selection of sodas and flavoured syrups such as Yuzu, Mango and Blueberry. Complete the drink with toppings such as lychee and sour plum.

Oh while you’re there, do not miss out the desserts. There is a surprisingly large variety local desserts such as Durian Pengat with Sticky Rice, Pulut Hitam, Kueh Kueh, Beancurd sheets and barley, and Cheng Tng. I usually avoid such desserts when I am at other hotel buffets as the one or two Asian desserts provided are just cursory inclusions. But the ones here are legit and worth the stomach space!

Seafood themed buffets don’t normally come cheap, but if you mainly want seafood, you might want to check out Spice Brasserie.

Saturday / Sunday Lunch : $48 per Adult | $24 per Child
Friday – Sunday Dinner : $58 per Adult | $29 per Child

Scroll down for more pictures of the food and happy diners.

Senso Ristorante & Bar Moët & Chandon Courtyard Brunch

Senso Moet & Chandon The Courtyard Brunch (15)

You may be familiar with Senso’s Italian Prosecco Brunch on Sundays which I blogged about some months back. In addition to this, Senso has now introduced a Moët & Chandon Brunch, to be held every quarterly. These are the special themes (later months tentative) :

  • October 2018 – Imperial Brut (by bottle)
  • December 2018 – Ice Imperial —> 2nd December, it’s this weekend!
  • March 2019 – Imperial Brut (Magnum)
  • June 2019 – Ice Imperial
  • September 2019 – Moet Rose
  • December 2019 – Moet Grand Vintage

The Moët & Chandon Brunch will feature a Pop-up Champagne Bar in the Courtyard, with free flow of Champagne, red & white wines and beers. If it’s too much work to visit the Champagne bar, do not fret because the waiters come by often to refill your glasses anyway. Senso’s Italian buffet of salads, antipasti, hot mains, pastas, desserts and other Italian classics will be available. And if you are in a party mood, you will like the House Music by Senso’s resident DJ Donat’. Check out this video taken during October’s Courtyard Brunch, it looks like the party atmosphere is going strong! You don’t have to sit in the courtyard though. We sat in air-conditioned comfort indoors. Smile

The next Moët & Chandon Brunch will be held on 2nd December from 11.30am to 3pm and there are but a few seats left. $108++ per person for free-flow alcohol or $68++ for no alcohol. Scroll down for some photos and a video taken at the 1st ever Moët & Chandon Brunch back in October.
