What to eat at Sentosa – Did you know there are over 120 F&B outlets to choose from?

When you think of Sentosa, what is the first thought that comes to mind? Beach fun? Island adventure? Resorts World Sentosa? Sentosa may be known as “The State of Fun”, but did you know that Sentosa is also the state of food? There are more than 120 F&B outlets in Sentosa, ranging from cafes to beach bars, and all the way to fine-dining restaurants. The options are so varied – you can dine in an underwater aquarium or as high as up in the sky!

I love dining out, so I’ve been to a fair number of restaurants in Sentosa over the years. Some of my favourite outlets include ilLido at the Cliff for its fine-dining atmosphere, Avenue Joffre for its unique dim sum dishes and fabulous roast meats, The Knolls for a lazy afternoon tea, and Coastes for breezy beachside dining.

However, when I came across the above video on the F&B options available on Sentosa, I was pleasantly surprised to know that I was missing out on a plethora of food gems all around Sentosa. With this number of F&B options, an entire year’s worth of weekend meals would not even be enough for me to completely cover what Sentosa has to offer.

Check out Sentosa’s webpage on dining options and you will be bowled over by the choices available. You can use the filter options (such as beach dining, buffets, vegetarian, halal food etc) to whittle down the available outlets. I find it very useful to sort by zone as well. For example, if you’re going to be in Resorts World Sentosa for a conference and do not want to venture too far, you can check for all the available F&B options in that zone, and you’ll know where exactly to have your morning coffee, business lunch, afternoon snack and business dinner.

Il Lido’s been having this great promotional deal with DBS where you get 50% discount off your bill if you spend above $200 before tax. DBS sends you the voucher on your birthday month, and I believe only if they deem you to be one of their exclusive customers. How we ever got onto that list of exclusive customers, I have no idea but I’m not complaining.

Since it is such a great deal, I decided to dine at Il Lido again for my birthday for the 2nd year running. I took the weekend set meal for $58.

Il Lido Sentosa - Complimentary Bread

 Complimentary Bread

Good bread is hard to find and for restaurants that manage to bake a good crusty loaf, I often find it hard to resist tearing the bread apart and slathering butter that is almost as big as the bread pieces. The baguette’s a personal favourite of mine and if you haven’t tried baguettes fresh out of the oven, you’re missing one of life’s simple wonders.

Il Lido Sentosa - Cantaloupe Soup

Cantaloupe Soup

Cold and refreshing. Might do well as a dessert too as it is slightly sweet.

Il Lido Sentosa - Amuse Bouche Risotto Balls (1)

Amuse Bouche Risotto Balls

4 little balls of breaded balls filled with hot piping cheesy risotto. The crusty exterior was nice, but I was hoping for more than just rice and cheese encased within.
