Christmas is but just over a month away. Are you ready for all the festivities!??!?!? Based on years of experience, do not wait till Christmas Eve or Christmas Day to celebrate the day, because the precious day just goes so fast. IMHO, you need to get into the Christmas spirit now! Start soaking in the festivities now, because before you know it, January will descend upon us like a ton of bricks.
So that means meeting up with friends over Christmas afternoon tea and Christmas dinner, walking down Orchard Road to see the Christmas Lights (it’ll still be fun even if you aren’t a fan of Disney) and stocking up on Christmas cookies and log cake. If you’re thinking of buying a real live Christmas tree but not sure about it, I say go for it. The smell of fresh pine is incredible, and even if you do not decorate it with a single ornament, your house will still smell of Christmas.
In the next few days I will be featuring places to get your Christmas goodies or have your Christmas Eve / Christmas Day lunch or dinner. Scroll down to read more!
From 12 November, Edge Restaurant will feature a glorious festive spread at the seven live stations. Classics such as the Pineapple Glazed Bone-in Gammon Ham and Oven Roasted Mustard Angus Striploin will be available. For cheese lovers, enhance the celebrations with Edge’s Farmer’s Cheese Theatre showcasing over eighteen varieties of artisanal European cheeses. Don’t forget the Christmas sweets such as Christmas Pudding and Panettone.
It’s not Christmas if you don’t have at least a slice of log cake. There’s the D24 Durian Pandan Log Cake, the Strawberry Rhubarb Log Cake and the Gianduja Caramel Log Cake. The durian and the chocolate log cakes are great, but the strawberry rhubarb is a little on the syrupy side. These are available for takeaway or at the Edge buffet.
Christmas bundles for when you want to throw your own fuss-free Christmas party at home. Available in two themes, the Heritage Christmas Bundle includes the Baked Eight Treasures Turkey, D24 Durian Pandan Log Cake and Lotus Leaf Fried Rice and the Traditional Christmas Bundle features a Roasted Turkey with chestnut stuffing and cranberry sauce, Honey Glazed Ham and Gianduja Caramel Log Cake.
I love having afternoon tea and there’s no better time to indulge in that than during Christmas. The Atrium long bar will be serving unlimited English and Peranakan signatures specially curated for this holiday season. Enjoy Nyonya Style Roasted Beef and Otah Salmon Fillet and festive savouries ranging from Roasted Beef and Cranberry Jam Multi-Grained Roll, Turkey Ham and Fig Marmalade Beetroot Bun, Singapore Chilli Crab Quiche and Butterfly Pea Nasi Lemak.

If you have the chance, check out the Keyaki Garden Pavilion situated next to a beautifully sculpted Japanese garden and koi pond. Who knew that this private little oasis could be found in the heart of Marina Bay? Great venue for private functions and even solemnizations. One of the few places in Singapore to have a garden setting solemnization but with air-conditioning (or choose to have the screen doors open). No need to worry about the rain too!
