If you’re looking for homey and hearty dishes this festive season instead of the usual turkey, you might just want to consider making a reservation at Jamie’s Italian. You can feast on dishes such as Porchetta, Roasted Baby Chicken, Seabass and even Wild Mushroom Pappardelle/Gnocchi if you go for their festive lunch/dinner menus at only $49.90/$65.90 respectively. The festive set meals also come with a glass of bubbly upon your arrival which I am sure will set you in a very Christmassy mood.
You may also want to know that Jamie’s Italian Singapore will be donating a portion of the proceeds from all kids’ meals sold to the Singapore Children’s Society. Jamie’s Italian Singapore will also spread some Christmas cheer with a children’s Christmas party for youths from Sunbeam Place. Customers are invited to donate gifts for the less fortunate during this festive season at designated toy-banks set up with easy access at both restaurants.
Check out the following pictures and description of the dishes to help you make your choice! Some of the dishes are only available for lunch while some are available only for dinner. Check with www.jamiesitalian.sg for the full set menus.
The Christmas menu will be available from now all the way to 31 December 2016
Festive Italian Pate on Toasted Ciabatta
The ciabatta has been toasted and topped with free range chicken liver & vin santo pate, as well as grated parmesan and crispy sage.
Bresaola Salad
Bresaola is air dried salted beef that has been aged for two to three months. Slices of the bresaola have been placed on top of creamy ricotta, sliced pears, garden leaves & toasted almonds with Parmesan & aged balsamic.
Smoked Salmon Crostini
My favourite of the starters, the smoked salmon has been obtained from responsible sources, and adorns the crunchy sourdough along with herbed whipped ricotta and fresh grated horseradish.
Seabass
Pan-fried sustainable sea bass with white wine, chilli, fennel and garlic broth served with steamed mussels and saffron aioli.
Gennaro’s Porchetta stuffed with not so secret secret blend of chilli, fennel, orange zest, apricot, apple and herbs.
My favourite mains of the lot as it is the most ”Christmassy” and also the tastiest, thanks to the free-range pork belly being slow cooked overnight and then crisped up upon ordering. We proudly use free-range pork for this dish.
Roasted Baby Chicken
Another tasty main dish, the free-range whole baby chicken marinated in herbs and served with pork sausage stuffing wrapped in pancetta, proper bread sauce and lots of gravy.
Tangy Lemon Tart
Was supposed to be a buttery biscuit base topped with a silky smooth lemon curd, vanilla cream, fresh pomegranate and mint tips, but it kinda felt undercooked to me. I did like the lemony tang though.
Tiramisu Pavlova — crunchy meringue topped with tiramisu, chocolate ice cream, toasted hazelnuts and hot chocolate sauce.
Although I’m not usually a fan of ”deconstructed” or ”twist” to the traditional format of a dish, this was surprisingly good. I’ve always liked my tiramisu to be moist on the verge of soggy, and being served in this manner allowed me to go straight for the moist sponge, rather than have to plough through a thick layer of cream.
