Toast Box - Dumplings

In celebration of the Dragon Boat Festival, Toast Box has been retailing limited edition ”bamboo” dumplings with 8 mini dumplings at the various Toast Box outlets.

There are three types of dumplings including Plain Mini Kee Chang (Served with Toast Box Hainanese Kaya), Mini Salted Dumpling (Glutinous rice with pork, fragrant shallot & spices) and Mini Nonya Dumplings (Glutinous rice with pork, winter melon, fragrant shallot & spices).

  • Bamboo package with 8 mini dumplings (flavours of your choice) — $21.80
  • 8 mini dumplings without bamboo packaging — $18.80
  • Single dumpling — $2.50

All dumplings are available for dine in or takeaway, available till 8 June 2014.

Over the weekend, I had the chance to try these dumplings. I tried both the pork dumplings. While I would have liked them to be more generously filled with ingredients, I do think that it is a lovely idea to be able to have a cup of tea with a savoury dumpling, especially in a mall setting. It’s probably a cheap afternoon tea snack option as compared to going to a cafe. I do hope that Toast Box will continue to retail these dumplings even after the end of the Dragon Boat Festival week, especially if they are able to improve the dumplings. Although I love their butter sugar thick toast, sometimes, it’s a savoury snack that I’m craving for!
