I’ve been to Xin Cuisine before, and true to expectations, the food was very enjoyable. The first course set the tone with the eye-catching Caviar Roasted Duck. Everyone raved about the Hashima & Crab Meat Soup, and when I say everyone, that includes the Ang Moh and the 2 kids! The baked lobster, so flavourful I really wished I had several more! We thoroughly enjoyed every dish. I guess the only complaint if I had one is that the Braised seasonal Vegetables in Superior Stock looks a little simple and plain, and the portion size not very large.
The set costs $108++ per pax, minimum 2 to dine. Although the portion size will not leave you overly stuffed, the value is in the expensive ingredients used and well-executed dishes.

Double-boiled Hashima & Crab Meat Soup – This is truly amazing stuff. One of the best versions of hashima I have ever eaten. Usually it is seen in Chinese desserts. This is the first time I’m seeing it in a savoury dish. The hashima and the crab complement each other, with the crab providing flavour and the hashima adding extra texture and bulking up the soup. Delicious! Even the 1.5 year old polished off her portion!
Baked Lobster with X.O Sauce – A really flavourful baked lobster. It isn’t small but I could have eaten 5 more of these because they were so good!

Braised 10-head Abalone and Sakura Prawn Fried Rice – The highlight for me was the abalone!
Durian Pudding – Okay don’t be fooled by the plain looks of this. It is a flavour bomb and a very creative way of using durian. I’m so tired of the usual durian pengat or durian cream puffs that is offered whenever durian is on the menu
Happy diners! Happy Mother’s Day!
