365days2playGrab your power converters and strap in for STAR WARS™️ Identities, happening at the Marina Bay Sands ArtScience Museum. With over 200 props, original costumes, models and conceptual artwork this exhibition is a must for all SW fans young and old.
The comprehensive exhibition focuses on episodes 1-6 and features most of the major characters such as Luke and Leia through to Anakin and Padme. It features original costumes from various characters with the standout being the Darth Vader costume worn by David Prowse in the original trilogies. There are numerous models of the most iconic space ships and a life like Marquette of Yoda. Plus the movie props like the Han Solo Carbonite will surely cause every fan to freeze to take it all in.
What really gets you behind-the-scenes though are all the conceptual art works that highlight the early ideas that George Lucas and team were exploring. From early versions of Jabba with legs to a skinny Chewbacca some characters seem to have gone through big changes before becoming the characters we all know.
Take your time at each exhibit because as well as information displayed at the booth there are also commentaries to listen to.
In addition to the movie paraphernalia, as you walk through the exhibition you slowly build your own Star Wars character choosing it’s species, characteristics and skills among other things. You’ll be given an RFID wristband to answer questions at booths scattered along the way. By the end you have your very own STAR WARS™️ Identity conveniently sent to your email to keep for a long long time.
Along the way, Emperor Palpatine poses an important question to you. Can you resist the dark side?
Oh a word of advice though, non Star Wars fans who aren’t interested in hokey religions and ancient weapons may not be as captivated as your typical fanboys though. This exhibition does require some background knowledge of STAR WARS to be truly appreciated, or it might be a waste of your $25 credits.
