What to eat at Millenia Walk during Chinese New Year

One of the perks of running this blog and being in the social media scene is that sometimes you get to do fun things that won’t actually happen in real life. Like for example, partake in a Chinese New Year feast in the Great Hall of Millenia Walk, while curious shoppers and passers-by wonder what we’re up to. Did you know Millenia Walk has a Great Hall? Sounds like some cavernous place in a fairytale castle (okay I’m thinking more of Harry Potter) but actually I’m sure you’ve been there because it’s just the huge space in the center of Millenia Walk. I’ll let you in on a secret, I’ve been looking forward to this Chinese New Year lunch! It’s a fun and celebratory affair, and also because it is a reunion of sorts for all those in the media.

While you won’t have the chance to toss yu sheng in the Great Hall of Millenia Walk, you can most definitely sample all these Chinese New Year dishes being rolled out by the various F&B establishments in the mall. Scroll down for more photos. Also add me on Instagram so that you can get on the spot 1st hand pictures and videos of all the events that I attend.

Nevertheless, it’s a restaurant I want to recommend because the food served here is good! I was here last week to sample their Chinese New Year 2020 offerings and I was impressed. Chinese New Year 2020 : Best restaurants to go for great Yu Sheng

Now that the Christmas festivities are over, it’s time to change direction and start planning for Chinese New Year. And when it comes to all things Chinese, bigger is better! So here’s a list of where to go for the most decadent and luxurious Yu Sheng you can find in Singapore for your reunion dinners / lohei to help you HUAT BIG in the year of the Metal Rat!

Interestingly, unlike in previous years, not many restaurants are featuring the rat image in their Yu Sheng creations. Perhaps the rat does not lend itself well to being recreated in Yu Sheng form, unlike say a horse, a monkey or even the pig. However, if you scroll down, you will see that Fullerton Hotel has done a pretty nice rat version. Do you know of any other Rat Yu Shengs out there? Head on over to my Instagram Stories to vote if you’d like to have a depiction of the Rat in your Yu Sheng. After all, the Rat IS part of the Chinese Zodiac.
