These are not only the most delicious chcolate brownies ever, they are the easiest brownies ever! Mmmmmm……send me your address and I’ll send you a piece.
Brownies are literally the easiest things to bake! Throw all your ingredients into a mixing bowl. Whisk away. Dump it into your brownie pan and bake for 20 minutes! What could be easier? Read on for the recipe….
Ingredient List (makes 20):
115g butter (room temperature)
200g sugar
2 eggs
60g self-raising flour
30g cocoa powder (or 100g of melted chocolate)
pinch of salt and pinch of baking powder
Steps:
1. Combine the butter, sugar and eggs together. Beat until evenly mixed.
2. Throw in the flour, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder. Once again, beat until evenly mixed.
3. Pour mixture into non-stick brownie pan or any greased tin of your choice.
4. Bake for about 20 minutes at 180degrees, longer if you want a harder and crispier edge to it.
Voila, brownies to share with your loved ones!
The recipe makes chewy brownies. You could even use this recipe to make cookies. Instead of filling your brownie pan to the brim, simply pour about 1/3 of your batter such that the pan only has a thin layer. Because the batter is thinner, the end result is that you will get a hard cookie type brownie.
If you want light and fluffy brownies, separate the egg-whites from the yolks and beat the egg-whites till stiff. Continue with step 1 except use only half the egg-whites. Add the remaining egg-white after step 2. Be gentle about it and try not to deflate the air bubbles in the egg-white.
Notice that the recipe uses cocoa. If you only have blocks of baking chocolate, you could still make this but they would be the oozy gooey kind of chocolate brownies, which I’m sure lots of people love too.
