Pan Pacific Edge Sunday Brunch Buffet – Food is great and there’s even live music!

April 3, 2024

It’s been a number of years since I last visited Pan Pacific Singapore’s Edge Restaurant Sunday Brunch. Edge is known for its huge and extensive buffet line. If you are looking for a buffet that has it all, a buffet line that seems to go on forever, you won’t go wrong with Edge. The nice view from the floor to ceiling glass panels running across the length of the restaurant doesn’t hurt either, and you can even see the Singapore Flyer in the distance.

At least that was how I remember Edge to be, and I’m glad to say that they have still upkept their standards all these years. So I was there to check out Edge’s brand new sumptuous Sunday brunch escapade experience. And sumptuous it certainly was with à la minute presentations from Singaporean, Chinese, Malay, Indian, Japanese, Thai, Western and fresh seafood spreads.

Wowing the crowd with the gigantic portions of meat. It worked. I was duly impressed!

Crowd favourites of the Sunday brunch include the Australia Black Angus Beef Prime Ribs, Sustainable Boston Lobster, Poached Whole Norwegian Sustainable Salmon, Signature Nonya Laksa, and Singapore Chili Crab with Golden Mantou. It being a brunch after all, there was also a Breakfast Station with your choice of eggs including Lobster Eggs Benedict, waffles, pancakes and more.

Also available are a Chargrilled Station with handcrafted sausages and hams made in-house by the hotel’s esteemed Master Butcher, a pizza and pasta station, and a cheese table with more than 10 different types of cheeses to choose from.

And guess what, the Edge Sunday Brunch even has two dessert stations! I thought my job was done after taking numerous pictures at the Western dessert table next to the cheese section. Only to discover there were more desserts on the opposite end of the restaurant, with a whole selection of ice creams, Peranakan kuehs and old school treats.

There’s no doubt the Pan Pacific Edge Restaurant buffet line is extensive. However what sets it apart from many other buffets is that many of the dishes I tried tasted very good, similar to what you’d get if you order from the ala carte menu at a good restaurant. I was particularly impressed with the Sashimi and Cold Seafood section. The sashimi tasted fresh and had a nice flavour, as compared to some places where the sashimi just doesn’t seem to have a taste at all. I wonder if this is due to the fact that Pan Pacific Singapore also has an in house Japanese restaurant, Keyaki Japanese Restaurant, which is very popular with the well-heeled.

Such a treat to be able to enjoy some Champagne on a lazy Sunday afternoon. This is indeed the life. Ignore the low resolution of the photo though, we were too busy entertaining ourselves with boomarangs we forgot to take still shots.

Boston lobsters, oysters, scallops, crayfish, prawns, crabs… you name it you got it!

The sushi and sashimi counter. Definitely save some space for this as the quality is very good.

Hot Chinese food counter

Whole Roast Lamb!!

Check out the size of those!

Noodle section

Thai section

Such a pretty cheese cake!

Red velvet cake

Gelato section. Kudos to the staff for making the display worthy of being in any speciality gelato store

One of the largest selections of cheese I have seen at a buffet. Alas, I had no space for this after going for several rounds of the cold seafood and other things!

Free juices, or you can top up to have free flow beer and alcoholic drinks.

Live singing courtesy of Elsa Mickayla and Sam Driscoll from The Young Folks. They were there for at least 1/2 the buffet session and it was such a treat! I never knew I would enjoy live singing at a buffet so much, but I did!

Lots of seating permutations to choose from. I highly recommend a table with a view of the live band. We were right in front of them and enjoyed their performance immensely.
