It’s the festive season, and one of the best ways to enjoy it is indulging in a good festive afternoon tea. Who can resist desserts in the shape of snowmen, Santas and stars? Possibly the cheapest Festive Afternoon Tea in Singapore at an effective $39++ per pax, due to their 1-for-1 promotion that is valid even during the festive season. Look forward to highlights such as the Marinated Prawn Mayo in Choux Puff and Smoked Salmon Eclair and Caviar. Enjoy unlimited servings of Traditional and Cranberry Scones, that are served with Whipped Cream and Strawberry Jam. Bonus, every child receives a bag of Christmas Cookies!

The second most affordable festive afternoon tea in this compilation. You can even get a glass of Prosecco for only $14++ when most other hotels are charging $20++. Those who enjoy a bit of buzz will also delight in the Meyers Dark Rum-infused Fruit Scones, the Brandy-inflused Christmas Fruit Cake and the Caramel Milk Chocolate Champagne Mini Log Cake. For savouries, expect Foie Gras Macaron, and Butternut Squash Ricotta Tattler amongst other things.

Tea and coffee is free-flow here, and on weekends one flue of champagne is thrown in as well. Savoury items include Crab Roll with Mullet Roe, Cured Salmon and Prawn Toast, and Cured Oyster Leche Tigre if you visit from Friday – Sunday. Lobby Lounge, Conrad Centennial Singapore

One of the more eye-catching and festive looking afternoon teas, served on a tiered contraption resembling a tree with branches. The savouries include Alaskan King Crab Sliders and Boston Lobster & Caviar and Foie Gras Profiterole. The desserts include Hojicha Tea Mousse and sponge and Chestnut Mon Blanc.

The Courtyard, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore

I have had afternoon tea at The Courtyard no less than 5 times over the years, and each occasion was a memorable experience. Dining in this stately and seeped in history building always gives me the feels.

For their Festive Afternoon Tea, expect savoury items like Marinated King Prawn and Caviar on Blini, Roast Prime Beef on Brioche and Truffle Egg Mayo on Charcoal Sesame Bun. Sweets include Morello Cherry Chocolate Forest, Vanilla Chestnut Mont Blanc, Mini Almond Stollen, Christmas Rum Fruitcake and Merry Christmas Hazelnut Macaron.

What’s most impressive is they have also listed their menus for Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Dairy-Free, Pescetarian and No Shell Fish. Phew! Is there any that they missed?

Florette, Pan Pacific Orchard

Florette is one of the newer afternoon tea spaces in Singapore due to the recent opening of Pan Pacific Orchard in 2023. So that’s reason enough to visit if you’re looking for new experiences. Expect sandwiches such as Atlantic Lobster with Caviar, Roast Turkey and Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese, for their Festive Afternoon Tea. Sweets include a cutesy Sweetest Gift wrapped in ivory white chocolate, or a Black Forest Christmas Ball, containing morello cherry confit, Christmas spices and kirsch bavarois.

Portman’s Bar, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay Singapore

Somehow, afternoon tea served in a suitcase never fails to please the eye and the camera. The savouries are a little on the simpler side. Expect  Salmon and cream cheese on Polo Bun, Turkey Ham and Cranberry on Maize Roll and Chicken Parmentier with Truffle Mousseline on a savoury Tartlet amongst others.

The desserts all look very festive, and include a Bauble, Gift Box, Santa Hat and Sweet Wagon. Tea and Coffee here are free-flow.

The aptly named Enchanting Afternoon Tea wows in quality rather than quantity. Look out for Chicken Liver Mousse, Hokkaido Scallop & Salted Lemon Cream Cone, Compressed Argentina Prawn with Tobiko, and Sour Plum Vine Tomato with Crab Salad & Caviar for savouries. For the sweets, the 24 Carat Gold Chrysanthemum & Viola Jelly is sure to be a talking point.

The Lobby Lounge, InterContinental Singapore

One of the grandest Lobby Lounge setting, the Festive afternoon tea here includes highlights such as the Ivory Snow White Chocolate Yule Cake and the Chestnut Creme with Sphere Delishoux. Also expect a trio of Charcoal Blinis with toppings such as smoked salmon, Ikura and Smoked Caviar with Maine lobster. Also check out their all-new Sticky Raisin Scones served with honey cranberry jam, red fruit preserves and clotted cream. Remember to reserve space for ice-cream because you can have unlimited servings of that.

There’s also a Santa’s Tea Party themed Kids Afternoon tea that you’ll want to check out if you have kids aged 4-11 years of age, at $68++ for 2 children. Hide the Baba Lionel Plushies from them or it’ll be costing you an additional $20++ each.

L’Espresso, Goodwood Park Hotel

L’Espresso is one of the very few places offering a Festive afternoon tea buffet, and one that is available even on weekdays. You can see from the number of seatings they have that they are very popular. Expect lots of sandwiches such as Smoked Salmon & Horseradish Cream, Turkey Ham & Cranberry Aioli and Stone Crab Salad Mango Salsa etc amongst others. Hot delights both local and Western include Braised Beef, Crispy Buffalo Spicy Drumlets and even Singapore Chilli Crab with Man-Tou.

It almost feels like a proper lunch buffet when there’s even a Carving Station. The festive feels are all at the dessert station, where you can find Chestnut Crumble Bars, Christmas Macarons, Log Cake, Christmas Fruit Cake, Christmas Pudding and Christmas cookies.

One of the few places in Singapore where you can have afternoon tea with a view as the Lobby Lounge of The Westin Singapore is located on the 32 floor of Asia Square.

Colony’s festive afternoon tea may seem to be on the pricier side, but don’t forget the pricing includes a flute of Champagne.  Also, there is unlimited servings of desserts such as scones, chocolate pralines, ice cream and waffles. A semi afternoon tea buffet if you will. For savouries, expect Oscietra Caviar and Smoked Salmon on Rosette Shells and Unagi Kabayaki Bun amongst other nibbles.

Brasserie Les Saveurs has recently been renamed The Astor Grill. Perhaps it’s a good reason to revisit?  The Festive Afternoon Tea here includes and Amuse-Bouche of a Mini Onion Scone with Imperial Caviar, savouries such as Wagyu Bresaola Sandwich and Wild Mushroom Turkey Cheese Roll, more scones and desserts such as Vanilla & Spice Hazelnut Shortbread and St Regis Christmas Stollen. Tea Lounge, Conrad Singapore Orchard

This is the former Regent Singapore Hotel, now known as the Conrad Singapore Orchard. Its rooms have recently undergone a major overhaul, and are available for booking starting from the last few days of December 2023. There is some hoarding around the hotel, but if you venture in you will see the hotel is still bustling.

One of the two full buffet style afternoon tea in this Festive Afternoon Tea compilation. The various sections include Finger Sandwiches, Seasonal Quiches, Scones, Salad Bar, Gravlax Bar, Mains and Desserts. The mains include items like Whole Roasted Turkey, Beef Wellington and Kurobuta Pork Char Siew while many festive desserts are available including the Mini Chocolate Yule Log, Chestnut Cassis Tart, Fig and Raspberry Sphere and Rum Ball. Inclusive of 2 beverages per person.

The Grand Lobby, Raffles Hotel Singapore

And the most expensive Festive Afternoon Tea at $108 per pax in this compilation, is from The Grand Lobby at Raffles Hotel. Savour an exceptional selection of Christmas nibbles in the timeless elegance at the grand old dame that is Raffles Hotel.

Expect exquisite finger sandwiches (menu does not provide details on what they comprise of). Sweet delights include Verbena Raspberry Christmas Ball, Chestnut Vanilla Tartlet, Festive Fruitcake and Mini Mincemeat Pie. Three types of scones: Original, cranberry and savoury scones to be paired with clotted cream and rose petal jam.
