What to eat at the Singapore Botanic Gardens – Cafes and Restaurants

September 11, 2013

Apart from the Food Canopy food court, there are also a few other restaurants and cafes to dine at at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

~~~ Corner House ~~~
Just newly opened on 25 July 2014, Corner House is a gastro-botanica French fine dining restaurant in a conservation black and white colonial bungalow perched atop a small hill. The priciest place of the lot, but that’s why it’s called fine-dining. You might remember this place as the former Au Jardin.
~~~ Halia Restaurant ~~~

Halia_3008 - Exterior Shot

Halia’s where you can dine amongst the foliage if you sit in the al-fresco area. Many people go to Halia for the English Afternoon tea. You can read about my previous dinner visit to Halia as well as Afternoon tea at Halia’s second outlet at Raffles Hotel.

~~~ Casa Verde ~~~
Casa Verde
This is another outlet by the Les Amis Group, this time, a casual cafe eatery. I love coming here for their all day breakfast. If you go before 11am, you can even have a drink thrown in! This cafe is also open to our furry friends as well so by all means, bring your doggies along! No food for pets is sold here, but they are still welcome to spend time by your side.
~~~ Food for Thought ~~~

Food for Thought is another casual eatery at the Botanic Gardens, and a little bit more accessible if you’re coming from the Napier Road / Gleneagles area, as it’s just after the garden gates. It looks totally open-air in the picture, but the area beyond the black pillars is air-conditioned. I don’t have a review of this outlet at the Botanic Gardens, but I do have a review of their Queen Street outlet.  https://365days2play.com/2012/09/24/food-for-thought/

~~~ Assembly Cafe – CLOSED ~~~
Assembly Cafe (9)
Ok technically speaking, Assembly Cafe isn’t located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens. However it’s just a stone’s throw away along Evans road. If you want good coffee, brunch and cakes, you might just want to check out Assembly Cafe. There’s also Hatched next door as well as Prata House for the prata and teh tarik loving people. Read my review of Assembly Cafe here plus see the map.
Do note that the Visitor Centre is different from Botany Centre. Botany Centre is at the Tanglin gate near Napier Road / Gleneagles. The Visitor Centre is in the middle of the Botanic Gardens, ie 15 — 20 minute walk from Botany Centre.
